[Opinions] Shay

I think it’s very simple and pretty and prefer it for girls. I also like the Shae spelling.
I like Shay. It's an understated, friendly, girl-next-door kind of name.
I've only ever known girl Shays, but I've met one boy whose name was pronounced Shay but it was spelled Shae or Shea or something like that. I've also met a lot of Shay-something girls like Shayna, Shaya, Shayana, etc.

Love Shay!
Shay to me is always masculine for whatever reason. Then again most of them I’ve known have been guys with the -ea spelling. I do like it as a male name. For girls, eh. It’s fine
Don't really like it, probably feminine
I have a lovely coworker named Shay (short for Shay + Leah as one name without a space in which Leah is not capitalized), but I really dislike the name. May and Fay are much lovelier.
I prefer it as masculine, mainly as a nickname to Shane, but I think it could stand on it's own as well. One of my characters from my novels is named Shane, often referred to as Shay by the other main characters. The name makes me think of him despite the fact that he's imaginary. 😂 But the association I have is a positive one and rather meaningful.
I've encountered 2 male Shay's, both from school from separate years. I'm not sure what they were short for, if anything at all. I've never met a female Shay.

It's feminine for me: I have a female cousin named Shae. It's short for a long name which I won't give because it's very unique.
I've never encountered it, so I can't guess at its origin or gender. It seems more like a nickname than a full name, but I'm guessing.
