DS2 (nb):
Family ultimately won out over fame and Anders, known to his father as Andy despite his mother’s insistence that everyone address him by his proper name, was born on a sunny August afternoon. Teddy, having been raised in an old-fashioned household, was surprised to discover that Marie-Louise had no intention of taking over the lion’s share of parenting. Initially he was able to balance fatherhood with his band and hopes of superstardom, but after Marie-Louise returned to work and Anders began to crawl, he was forced to miss more rehearsals until he was finally replaced. Although he continues to play guitar as a hobby, the loss of his dream has hit hard.
Nevertheless fatherhood has agreed with him, primarily because Anders is a very easy and sunny baby. He is particularly close to his father and Teddy refers to Anders as his ‘little partner-in-crime’, with the two rarely seen apart. Recently Anders has even been found in his father’s office, eating sandwiches on an overturned milk crate whilst Teddy is at work, and offering a cheerful grin to anyone who looks at him. It is hard to say if this is helpful for productivity, but it certainly doesn’t harm morale.
Marie-Louise has also enjoyed parenting more than she expected. Although her career still takes her away quite frequently, it is a tremendous morale boost to come home to her son’s happy smiles. Her favourite pastime is walking around the house with Anders sleeping on her shoulder. It is now she who is pushing to expand the family. Teddy was reluctant to bring another baby into the house, concerned that Anders would feel neglected, but Marie-Louise was adamant that he should have company of his own age and not grow up completely surrounded by adults. Despite Teddy’s suggestion that they should wait until Anders is in school so attention will not be so divided, Marie-Louise prevailed and their second baby was born mere days before Christmas.
To avoid any more long summits, Marie-Louise and Teddy agreed that she would choose the new baby’s name if it was a girl and he would choose if it was a boy, with no interference from the other. This was a bet Marie-Louise was willing to make as she was certain throughout the pregnancy that she would have a little girl, and prepared a sweet feminine name in anticipation. Teddy’s choice was more ‘rockstar’ inspired, though Marie-Louise was convinced it wouldn’t be required. When it was discovered that her second child was another boy after all, she had no other male names prepared and so Teddy was free to name as he saw fit.

DS2 is named after a guitarist or bassist admired by his father. (I can't include links for inspiration, but there are lists on this site.) His middle name comes from a song released before 1996.
