[Opinions] Favourite Names from Polls that Didn't Win
I've discovered that doing the name polls helps me relax after work. I've seen some awesome names this week, though (unsurprisingly) my favourites aren't popular. Coming here to gush.
Penelope Rose, nn Posie - This name feels feminine and elegant, and Posie is an adorable nn that incorporates both names: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437252
Kallisto Edith - This name feels beautifully balanced to me. I know Edith is considered "vintage ugly" in the Anglosphere, but the whimsical mythology of Kallisto pairs well with the groundedness of Edith IMHO: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437272
Drusilla Marigold - Makes me want to write something set in Edwardian England. Another "juxtapose" name that strikes the perfect balance between strength, with Drusilla literally meaning "strong," and the bright floral lightness of Marigold. 10/10 name: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437257
Daisy Edwina - Has the feel of Drusilla Marigold's younger sister. Same vibe and balance. I also love the sibling combo of Daisy and Dru: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437250
Lovisa - Always been a fan of Louise, and the Swedish version has a lyrical softness to it without losing gravitas: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437249
Vesper - Never thought of this as a name, but I love the meaning and the similar pronunciation to my daughter's name (Ester, no "h"): https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437242
Franz Valentino - Got a "dislike' score, sadly, but if my son's name wasn't already set in stone (Coetsee, like koot + German word for lake) this would have been a contender: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437240
Saul Isidore - Got an "okay" score, but I adore it. Wouldn't quite work for my kid, but Saul can be the Tragic Love Interest [TM] in Dru and Daisy's story: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437233
Hadrian & Anatole - Not an option in the poll, would be my one true combo if it was: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437232
Viatrix Hanne - This one actually did win :D I love the Medieval vibe: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437194
Tobias Conan - I've never been a fan of Conan, but paired with Tobias it somehow works: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437270
Dante August - From the same poll as Tobias Conan. One of the top scorers and I can see why: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437270
Aurelian - I love names with "gold" in the meaning without being too garish. This one is stunning, and I love that it's a boy name: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437182
Estelle Sigrid - Wonderful Swedish name! This combination carries a lot of history, giving a nod to the Duchess of Östergötland, whose name was chosen to honour the Swedish royal family's connections to France, paired with a traditional Swedish middle with a gorgeous meaning. Love it: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/437314

Love Daisy and Vesper
I went and voted for Penelope Rose because it's so much nicer than Elouise Rose lol
Good taste!
