[Facts] Emelita (filipino name)
I am trying to determine the exact origin of the name Emelita, but unfortunately, I can't find any credible source records I can use for my research.
It might be a diminutive of Emily, but it appears to be used as a standalone name in the Philippines. Another theory is that it might be a variant of Amelita, which could explain why it is a standalone name. The last theory that is unlikely is that it is a blend of Amelita and Emily.
Does anyone know sources that can be used for research of Philipino names? Or what is the origin of this name (please provide me with sources if you have them)

It is not that unusual to find diminutives as official names in the Philippines (also native Tagalog diminutives are found), so I'd go for the Emily etymology.
thank you
