I like it better than Julia; it feels more down to earth and not prissy. Julia has always made me think of a spinster with her mouth all pursed up in distaste. Who knows why?
I think Julie kind of is dated. It is sort of similar in style to Sophie, for instance, but the thing is, when Julie was very popular, Sophie, and Sadie and such were not popular at all and were actually thought of as grandma names.
I like Julie as a full name, but my favorite name with that sound is Julissa.Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
