[Opinions] Re: Top 10 for March ~*~
in reply to a message by Wordsmith
Ooof, I almost missed this month! February flew by fast. Anyway, here's my Top 10 for March:
Adrian
Dominic
Donovan
Finn
Isaac
James
Malcolm
Nicholas
Richard
Wesley
&
Arlette
Elaine*
Josephine
Lauriana
Marguerite
Miranda
Olivia*
Sabrina
Sapphira
Veronica*
(Names with an asterisk are ones I cannot use in real life, at least not as first names.)
Adrian, James, Arlette, Marguerite, Olivia, and Sapphira replace Alistair, Thomas, Audrey, Julia, Tallis, and Willow.
Tallis is one of those names that I love, but keep questioning how useable it would be in real life. Like, would a girl/woman named Tallis just end up being called Alice all the time?
Sapphira is another name that I've loved "quietly" for a long time. I also enjoy Sapphire, but go read the name comments--they're worse than what's left for Amber (which is also unfairly stereotyped, but that's another issue)!
Arlette is a name I've tossed around as a middle for a while, before considering it as a first name; and Marguerite is a very old favorite returning to the Top 10.

Top 10 Combos for March
I'm making a separate reply for the actual Top 10 "usable combos" I have for March, which is a different list and not to be considered for BtN's favorite names (if anyone is still compiling the data for that). It's different because this list doesn't consider the "unusable" names; so, in this case, there are 3 different first names on the feminine list:
Adrian Bennett
Dominic Edmund
Donovan Leo
Finn Gabriel
Isaac Evander
James Timothy Otto
Malcolm Elliott
Nicholas Wolfgang
Richard Arthur Hugh
Wesley Owen Rhys
&
Arlette Eleanor
Audrey Madeline
Claudia Drusilla
Josephine Iris
Julia Seraphine
Lauriana Celeste
Marguerite Alice
Miranda Violet
Sabrina Lily
Sapphira Katharine
Some of these (like Wesley Owen Rhys, Finn Gabriel, Malcolm Elliott, Miranda Violet, and Sabrina Lily) are mainstays that are just never leaving this list unless the FN somehow becomes "unusable" to me. There's a small group whose combos I'm not totally confident in, however:
James Timothy Otto (James needs something longer, but I'm not 100% on the flow--my dad's name is Timothy, though)
Claudia Drusilla (didn't get a good response on the Polls, but Claudia Ruby did--however, I'm not sure Claudia and Ruby match; open to suggestions for Claudia)
Marguerite Alice (Marguerite is hard to find middle names for, but I think Alice goes... idk, is it too boring?)
Sapphira Katharine (nobody liked it on the Polls, but Sapphira needs something "normal" in the MN slot, imo; open to suggestions for Sapphira)
