[Opinions] Palma
British tv actress Michelle Keegan and her radio presenter husband Mark Wright have announced the birth of their first child who was born on March 6th a daughter Palma Elizabeth Wright. I find it an interesting choice and not one I would choose but it’s no different than naming a child London, Paris or Sheffield. WDYT?Don’t take criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from

It's pretty and pious, and then I think of Brian De Palma, and its street cred skyrockets.I prefer Palmira.
I fear she'll spend her waking moments explaining that, no, it isn't a typo and it isn't Pamela either ...Did they say how they'll pronounce it? Pal as in Friend, + mu, approximately the Spanish pronunciation, or like Palmer = PAH mu? (u being the neutral vowel)

Don't know where you're getting that, Palma in Spanish is more like Palmer with a 'mah' at the end.
I didn't understand the reference to Paris, etc., but I looked it up and see that it's a place name, first name and surname in some parts of the world. I like it.

Maybe because I live in the US now I am missing why it is like naming a child Paris or London. It's an unremarkable name used in many languages.
Palma is the capital city of the Spanish island of Mallorca (Majorca). Mallorca is the largest Spanish island.
