It is cute on cartoon characters, but the Disney ducklings are too well known for the reference not to be obvious.

I recently read a book called "Poisoned Blood" the true story of a woman named Marie Hilley who poisoned her husband to death with arsenic, jumpd bail and took on two new identities before she was finally caught. Recommended!
Anyhow, her father had a twin brother. These men would have been born in the early 1900s, before Disney came along. Their names were Huey and Louie.
