[Opinions] Re: Cemetery names
in reply to a message by peregrine
These are my favorite:
Artemis
Assunta
Charalambos
Christalla
Eamonn
Elenitsa
Esterina
Gaspare
Genovina
Myrtella
Odysseas
Salvatrice
I'm not sure how I feel about Argyrous (or Argyros), Astero, and Demos, but they are interesting to see.
I'm curious about Shoghi, Zoiro, and Zomenis. Shoghi seems like it could be a version of Shuggy (diminutive of Shug), and maybe Zoiro is related to a Zoro* name, but I can't tell. Shoghakat is in the submitted section as a feminine Armenian name - do you know if Shoghi was feminine or masculine?

Thanks for the response! If I remember correctly, Zoiro and Zomenis both had Greek surnames, and forebears ranks them both as most densely populated in Cyprus (albeit each with one bearer). Shoghi was masculine and Iranian in nationality.
Interesting. I added Shoghi to the submitted section. :)
