[Opinions] Re: Shirley
I think it has a reasonable chance of making at least a small comeback. It was ahead of its time when it first got popular, being a surname-turned-first-name, and it's got the stylish lee ending.
I know of one Shirley who isn't/wasn't an old lady. When our daughter was in elementary school, the school had a program where older kids, about middle school, would spend time with the younger ones, mainly reading to/with them. Valerie's "book buddy" was a girl named Shirley. Very nice girl. Her family was from Jamaica. Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
