Shirley feels old fashioned to me. I have a Great Aunt Shirley for example, who is 91 now, so I think of grandparents and the Shirley Temple era when I hear the name.
It is pretty though. One of my friends named her daughter Shirley just a couple years ago, so she's like a 4 yo Shirley and it's starting to feel younger to me now. It's a very cutesy kind of name, I think, and one of the old fashioned ones I can see becoming popular again.
