I like Alina because of its versatility in usage, but its sound is boring. It's not uncommon in Spanish-speaking countries, but I haven't met one. I'm not surprised about the name's popularity in the US, since it follows some patterns of trendy names: short (Mia, Lily, Riley), L sound (Layla, Ellie, Lillian) and used in many cultures (Sofia, Nora, Emilia).ETA: middle namesAlina Beatrice
