Hello, to the writer. I stumbled across the article and decided to message. I was born into the family and really don't know myself of how the name came about for I got so much different information. But for sure I heard it stem from Portuguese. I also heard it could of been from Brazil or Italy. Hmmmm, but as you said, it's an unusual name. I don't even know about my grandfather he died when my mom and her siblings where very small. So he went with all the history. My grandmother never spoke much about him either so that was no help.
