Help[Opinions] 2024 name predictions
So, the time for SSA'S top baby name list is almost near and should be released this Friday, if things go according to plan. 🙏 (Never know these days) Do you have any predictions? Any changes to the top 10, top 20, top 100, which names will enter, which will leave, or anything else?
Here are my modest predictions:
♀️Top 10: Same batch of names, no new entries.
Although if any name were to leave, I would predict it to be Ava. I'm not sure why the name is dropping so rapidly. I think it's a lovely name, so it would be sad to see it go eventually. For this year however, I predict it to rank at #9 or #10.
Emma will also keep declining and perhaps drop down a rank or two. Olivia will almost definitely remain at #1.
♂️ Top 10: William or Lucas leaving, replaced by either Levi, Jack or Sebastian. OR perhaps just the same batch of names. Liam will probably remain at #1, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Oliver take that crown sometime. Mateo & Theodore will continue to rise for sure.
Top 20:
Daniel, Samuel & Emily (Leaving)
Hudson, Luca, Julian, Elias, Aurora, Gianna, Nora, Isla (Entering)
Top 100:
Jaxon, Robert, Easton, Landon, Jordan, Ariana, Lydia, Brooklyn (Leaving. I'll be sad to see Lydia go, even if it's just within the top 100.)
Austin, August, Adriel, Millie, Melody, Daisy, Lucia, Josie (Entering)
Leaving the charts:

Elowen (I'd be shocked if this one doesn't enter) This is the only name I'm staking on in this category.
Some of these predictions I'm more sure of than others, but will be interesting to see nevertheless, not just to see which predictions I make right, which I make wrong, but just to see the list in general. 🙂

I could cry I'm so happy.
I feel Scarlett is a mixed bag. It could very well end up dropping out, or linger around that section for little bit longer and just take it's time coming down so to speak. I would love to see Harper out of the top 20, but I doubt that'll take place this year, unfortunately. I also don't care for Hazel, but I would be absolutely THRILLED to see Harper go.

My name is Scarlett. I'm pursuing an acting career. I know that I'm overdramatic about it, but it truly makes me sad not to have a unique name. When I was born, it was in the 500s! I won't stage my age, but that was less than 20 years ago.

I think you meant Elowyn, not Elowen? Elowyn is much more popular in the US, unfortunately.

Oooh, you're right. Not only should Elowen chart, but I really hope it passes Elowyn in the next few years.
Definitely disagree with the Redditor. Elowyn is creeping up the charts pretty fast, and Elowen will definitely soon follow.

The list is finally up. Elowen has finally charted!!! #898. I am ecstatic! 👏🎉😄
I've always wanted to see Elowen charting! I got upset when Elowyn charted in 2022 instead. This year it rose to #446, a noticeable boost. Rowyn reentered the chart at #779.
I've been wait and anticipating Elowen's arrival for YEARS! I'm so happy! 😊 I hope it surpasses Elowyn some day.

I'm really bad at guessing these things. I think Chloe will continue to fall, maybe leaving the Top 20 again. And Baylor and Collins will rise for girls. I think Maeve will make another huge leap, maybe into the Top 50.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Oliver nabbed the top spot soon. I think it'll be at #2.

Chloe probably will and yes, maybe even leave the top 20. I don't see it dropping significantly however, probably ranking down in the low 20's or high 30's. #28 or #32, for example.
I almost forgot about Baylor & Collins existence, but they will certainly continue to rise, unfortunately. Maeve: of course! I can also see it making it into the top 50. I would not be surprised by that in the least! 🙂 Freya will also probably continue to surge. (I always think of Freya when it comes to Maeve for some reason, and vice versa)

Oh I think I read the wrong info for Chloe - it's already out of the top 20! I agree with you that it might stick around the #30 mark though.
Baylor for girls! Ew. I'm sorry. Taylor is one thing, but I guess the new trend is aylor plus any letter.
