[Opinions] Lenore / Leonore - What would you pair using it as a middle name, and as a first name?
Replies
I like both. Lenore is nice. It's Poe-ish and therefore a little dark. It's closer to Lenor than Leonore though, and Leonore feels more complete and fancier in a way. On the other hand, if you want "leh-nor", Leonore isn't intuitive and a lot of people are going to pronounce it "lee-oh-nore" (or (if German) "lee-oh-nor-a" maybe?).
I think it makes a more 'natural' middle name than it does first name, at least when I was trying to make combos. I think it makes a solid middle.

"It's Poe-ish and therefore a little dark."
Definitely. That's why I like it.
"Leonore feels more complete and fancier in a way"
Agreed!
"On the other hand, if you want "leh-nor", Leonore isn't intuitive and a lot of people are going to pronounce it "lee-oh-nore" (or (if German) "lee-oh-nor-a" maybe?)."
I'm open on the pronunciation. With my accent, when I pronounce Leonore, I actually say it more like Lay-uh-NOOR. I say Lenore like LEH-nor. I like both. I find alternate pronunciations to be charming.
Of your suggestions, I like:
Lenore Allegra
Lenore Ophelia
Lenore Ottoline
Lenore Sapphira
Beatrice Lenore
Sapphira Lenore
Zelda Lenore

Thank you for your feedback.
Strangely enough, I just added Bernadette to my PNL last night!
Veronica Lenore has great rhythm.

I like Leonore but love Lenore - it's regal and direct. I hope it gets used more.

Lenore Elise is nice, but I have bad associations with that name :(
Oh that's too bad :(
I understand though. I liked the name Leighton, but I got a bad association with the name recently:(

I'd only ever consider Eleanor. Eleanor Belinda? Then Lenore Belinda could work. Suzette Lenore.
I love Lenore. Leonore is beautiful too, but I've always loved the way Lenore looks. This spelling is more straightforward for me as well; with Leonore there might be some confusion on if it's "lee-oh-nor" or "leh-nor".
How would I combo it, hmmm. Some ideas:
Lenore Lila
Lenore Marcelle
Lenore Estelle
Lenore Geraldine
Lenore Gwendolyn
Lenore Angeline
Lenore Caroline
Lenore Emmeline
Lenore Chantal
Ivy Lenore
Edwina Lenore

Ophelia Lenore is gorgeous!!
I like both pronunciations of Leonore, actually.
I like your idea of an -ine ending for the middle name with Lenore. Both Lenore Marcelle and Lenore Caroline stand out to me. Lenore Chantal has nice flow, though Chantal is nms.
Ophelia Lenore is my current favorite, actually.
Paloma Lenore is lovely.
