Michael is a lovely name. Lucas I don't like. When people say that about normal names, I think they are just playing around.

It's also reverse snobbery for people who only like traditional common names. When you have an unusual or modern name, the parents who favor more traditional names tend to mock the names of the less traditionally named kids. And either their kids (like Michael) repeat what their parents said or the parents are mean enough to say it to their faces.
