They could be used in real life.
I like Odile better than Odette.
Odette reminds me of Odie from Garfield, and odor, but not Toadette. Odile also makes me think of Odie and odor.I thought Odile would have been pronounced OH-di-lay. The pronunication is not easy. I think Odelay is the name of a Beck album.
I like Odilon (like the artist Odilon Redon) better.

Interestingly Odilon Redon was named Bertrand but called Odilon after his mother, Odile Marie.
Very interesting! I did not know that. I'm going to have to go read his Wikipedia page!
