[Opinions] Damaris
I love cows but always struggled with this name because I thought the second syllable had to be emphasized, but when I stress the first syllable, I find it dramatic, poetic, silken, and shimmering. So, what do you think of Damaris with this pronunciation? Some combos:Damaris Ophelia
Damaris Leona
Damaris Eugenie
Damaris Eulalie
Damaris Linnea
Damaris Edwina
Damaris Dorothea
Damaris Leonora
Damaris Viola
Damaris Ginevra
Damaris Georgina
Damaris Elettra/Electra
Damaris Adele
Damaris Eloise
Damaris Lilac
Damaris Mathilde/Matilda
Damaris Marguerite
Damaris Clotilde/Clotilda
Damaris Camellia
Damaris Odette
Damaris Odile
Damaris Ianthe

I also prefer when the first syllable is emphasised. The name itself is mighty and majestic, I don't understand why it never caught on, it fits with other biblical names like Martha, Abigail or Candace.I like:Damaris Ophelia
Damaris Leona
Damaris Eugenie
Damaris Eulalie
Damaris Edwina
Damaris Viola
Damaris Ginevra
Damaris Georgina
Damaris Electra
Damaris Adele
Damaris Eloise
Damaris Matilda
Damaris Odette
Damaris IantheOther combos:Damaris Audrey
Damaris Cynthia
Damaris Freya
Damaris Godiva
Damaris Guinevere
Damaris Heidi
Damaris Imogen
Damaris Lillian
Damaris Lucina
Damaris Marianne
Damaris Primrose
Damaris Serena
Damaris Thea
Damaris Vivienne
Damaris Zenaida
Does Damaris really mean cow? Wow, not a fan!
Cows are beautiful and holy. :)
I love cows too. They're delicious. lolI like the Da-MARE-is pronunciation, which is the one used by the only Damaris I ever knew. The DAM-a-Riss is just not very attractive to me. Maybe because of the dam sound.
Poor taste.
Doesn't daMAREis make it more equine than bovine?
That pronunciation just makes me think of demerits.
I just feel lukewarm about it.Damaris Lilac is my fav of those combos.I feel like
Damaris Verbena
Damaris Cornelia
Damaris Blandine
Damaris Merida

I like Damaris, although I had been saying it wrong too! I also like the Spanish Dámaris (DA-ma-rees).A lot of your combos appeal to me. I like:Damaris Ophelia
Damaris Eulalie
Damaris Leonora
Damaris Georgina
Damaris Elettra
Damaris Adele
Damaris Eloise
Damaris Lilac
Damaris Clotilde
Damaris Odette
Damaris Odile
Damaris IantheMight I also offer that I think Damaris Chloe would be a pretty combo? Your Damaris Clotilde inspired me. Damaris Camille would be beautiful too.
I just realized I've been saying this name wrong in my head all this time and I prefer it the way I say it in my head. I've been saying it duh-MAR-is, but seeing it here it says it's supposed to be DAM-a-ris. I prefer my way lolI like all the combos, they all work tbh but I especially liked Damaris Camellia, it works so well as a combo.
I never considered stressing the second syllable. I like that pronunciation as well, but I 100% agree about the name's charm when the emphasis is on the first. I like this name a lot. Unfortunately the meaning is the only thing that puts me off :')ETA: I like Damaris Linnea and Damaris Clotilde a lot.
