I went to church with a wonderful woman named Peggy. She was one of the first career women, women who came to work in DC during WWII and stayed. Oh, she was a delight. (I feel very blessed to have grown up around women like that. There were many, many unmarried woman, all of whom started their careers in the forties.)
Peggy definitely has a place in my heart. I still prefer it as a nickname, though.
Personally, I wouldn't name my child after my church. Holy Spirit, Calvary, or Wisconsin Avenue really don't seem like names.
