For what it's worth, the novel duology was substantially more enjoyable than the film version. The film was fine, but I was disappointed - the tonal shifts didn't really work for me whereas they did in novel form. (Also the movie needed more Toni Collette.)

Manikova, Zuko, Nasha are new to me. I don't have strong feelings about them.

Luko mostly just reminds me of Luka.

Mickey seems retro; I think of Mickey Mantle and Mickey Blue Eyes.

Arkady seems Russian. I like the sound.

I've never met an Ylfa but have met an Ylva.

I went to school with a Darius. I like it.

Kai and Zeke seem like they'd be young now.

Alan, Matthew, Kenneth, and Marshall seem boring/traditional.

Dorothy seems old-fashioned but in a way that's sort of popular or might be soon.

I don't like Preston. It sounds smarmy to me.

Ylfa, Dorothy, Arkady and Darius are the only names I really liked. Mickey is cute, though.

Mickey makes a great nickname for Micah or Michael, though it is associated with Mickey mouse. Is it about Mickey Mouse? Never heard of movie.

Ylfa is interesting. I like Darius a lot.
