No. It is Slavic name that is strictly male. Liv is American name. You don't name a girl male Slavic name because you think it sounds similar to American name. Quite frankly it looks stupid if you do this.Edit: and not to mention Liv is short form of "Olivia"Oil and water do not mix.

I agree with this. I had François and Etienne on my list for boys' names. I stopped sharing online because I would have English speakers telling me they "sound like girl names." In my community, a girl named Etienne or François is the equivalent of a boy named Sue.

I agree with what you said about Lev but Liv is not just short for Olivia. It is also a separate stand alone name in some languages with a completely different origin.

Ah, well then, excuse my ignorance. But either way, both "Liv" come from 4 completely different culture than Slavic, and combining them together does not work very well.
