Curtis is nms. It's not a horrible name or anything though.
I like that show... but Curtis is nms... everytime i hear it i think about 50 cent(EWW)!!!
I must be out of the loop because I have no idea what the connection with 50 cent is!
I have a very special personal connection to this name--my nephew. It's not terribly common so I automatically think of him whenever I see/hear it. His name is Curtis Scott, Scott being a family surname and Curtis is after a family friend (Curtis Pat, goes by his mn Pat--not Patrick, oddly enough--but his father, also our close friend, was Curtis "Curt" and he died shortly after our Curtis was born). When my sister first announced she was naming him Curtis (he's 10 years old now) we weren't overly joyed, but I've definitely fallen in love with it by now. We often call him Curt, but mostly he's Curtis. He occasionally gets Turdis or Dirtis at school, but it seems to be only good-hearted teasing so far, and nothing that hurts his feelings but just annoys him a bit. :b
I haven't seen the cute chef named Curtis yet, so I'll have to check that out. :b Actually, since our Curtis was born, it's been brought to our attention how popular the name Curtis is in the African-American community as just about every one we meet is an older Black man. :)

I'm glad your nephew can take teasing in stride. It's had to imagine all of the possibilities for teasing! I hadn't thought of Turdis though...
Kermit??
LOL. Took me a sec to figure out what you were talking about. Kermit the Frog is the famous muppet (he wasn't just a "Muppet Baby", you know :b) not Curtis the Frog. :)
