[Opinions] Non-intuitive pronunciations
Have you ever encountered names that are spelt to look like one name but pronounced like a totally different name? I once knew a girl whose name was spelt Chloe, yet pronounced Shiloh. She was naturally constantly correcting teachers. I also recently heard about a baby boy whose name is spelt Jerome, yet pronounced Jeremy.
“The caveman method I abhor, and I do not believe that it is ever successful with the women who is worth having. Who could desire a woman taken by force? Who would gain any pleasure from loving or caressing a woman who did not give in return?"

Chloe said Shiloh. LMAO!
How nice of those parents to actually figure out how to pronounce the name before they used it. I'm guessing it was before it became so popular. She'd be better of just switching to the right pronunciation.
Ditto for poor Jerome.

I used to work with a black woman whose name was spelled Tanian and yet was pronounced tye-ANN-ah. Should have been TAN-ee-an. tye-ANN-ah said her father had named her, and had written her name on her birth certificate himself. He was an uneducated sharecropper.

Yes. My name is Daina (DAY-na) and you would think if was easy to pronounce, but NO! there have been so many ways people have said it. the weirdest was DEE-ar-na. I don't know where they got the R from...
i know that wasn't quite the same as prounouncing differently.... but people pronounce it weird when it's not supposed to be!

I don't know if this counts, but the Portuguese name Ailyn, looks as if it's pronounced AY-lin. Well, it'snot. It's pronounced like Eileen. Weird, Is'nt it?

I know someone whose name is Alys (Alice) but pronounces it like Elise/Aleece. I also met a girl whose name was spelled Charlie, like the boy, but pronounced it like Carly...weird.
