I really like this name (pron like Milo) for a girl, but am hesistant to use it because, it sounds like a boys name (and may well be for that matter -- it don't know it's origin), and people will mispronounce it MAY-lo.
What do you think of it?

Well, since I plan on naming my son Milo, I'd have to say I really don't like the name for a girl. What about Maya?

I really think it would be cute on a girl with that spelling. MAILO is cute. It reminds me of Malibu.
