My Sylvia... :)This is my best friend's name. She is 13 and her MN is Hae Min (She's Korean). She hates her name because she says it sounds too old and reminds her of the word "Sylvan", meaning lumber. But I've always liked it, a lot because of her. :)

It's ok. I go back and forth between liking it and not being very fond of it. I prefer Sylvie, the French form.

I adore Sylvia. I agree with Cambria about it having a "a natural, woodsy feel"; it's graceful, elegant, and ethereal. It's also the name of my first and favorite ballet instructor who is one of the most talented, creative, ingenious people that I have ever known. I can't say enough good things about the name, it's absolutely beautiful.Love is the lord of the house within him and rules all the concerns of his soul- Plato

It's still feels a little too geriatric to me, but I think it's going to grow on me within a few years. I think it's got a cool sound and meaning.

I love it. It's very, very lovely. I've started writing a story with a character named Silvia and she's gotten me to loving the name (ditto Arlyn, Errol...)

I like Sylvia but I like the French version Sylvie more."You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams."

I think it's very classy, and I get a natural, woodsy feel from it. :o) I prefer it to Sylvie, but then again, I'm partial to names ending in -ia.Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts
