[Opinions] I like it as a nickname.
I don't know if I'd care for it as a given name but I like the idea of someone bearing it in a voluntary kind of way. :-) It's sweet and while most people have heard it it's definitely unusual to see in real life. I definitely prefer it as a nickname for Virginia over Ginny. Ginny reminds me of a booze-related quasi-insulting nickname along the same lines as Rummy.
