I thought it was a bit weird and interesting at first and wasn't too keen on it, I quite like it now. I love Gwen though, so that helps! I think King would be such a cute nn.

I'm from a little city called Kingston in Canada, and it's definitely not cool enough to use as a namesake for my kid. But I don't hate it. I think the nn King (which I hear their using) is completely pretentious and self-absorbed.

I like it and I think Gwen is so cool. I wonder if he has a middle name.

His full name is Kingston James McGregor Rossdale. I like Kingston and James, but not McGregor. I'm not a big fan of last names as given names.

I like Kingston James more. maybe McGregor is a family name or friend.can you imagine if she had a girl? I wonder what names were on her list?

Sorry, I didn't see that his full name was already posted!

i like the name even more now with the whole thing together.....for a pop star she could have gotten much freakier (in a bad way)

I don't like it. I don't really like Gwen Stefani, either, because of the awful quality of her music, particularly in the last few years. Ugh. It makes my skin crawl to see what starts as a mediocre ska band crank out garbage like the Bananas song. Anyway, little rant over. I thought I'd mention it because it probably influences the way that I look at her naming choices. I don't mind -ston or -ton names as a principle, or place names when they meet my personal criteria for using a place name, but the potential for this name to have the nickname "King" turns me off. I'm not big on names that sound like regal titles, I guess.

Dalton Trumbo ?wasnt he a black listed director or writer ?just curious

Yep.He was a screenwriter and novelist and one of the "Hollywood Ten." Ironically considering it was an anti-war novel, he stopped JGHS from being published until WWII was over (something like that; I forget the details) because of fearing conveying some sort of anti-Allied sentiment.

Yea, I didn't care much for the solo stuff she did. I did like the first No Doubt album. And I used to really admire her voice on the songs she did with Sublime. In general Kingston just sounds too surnamey to me. And I agree, King is a weird title/name for a kid.Not the worst celebrity name ever, but I'm not celebrating it either.

Well..i kept my feelings aside...i feel the same about her music...i dont know her personally, so i cant comment on her, per se...but i like the name Kingston and its roots as a place name...which is a little ironic seeing that i dont like place names or "royal" names :)

I actually think that it is a quite cool name. I would never actually use it though, it's more of a guilty pleasure.Kristen~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have heard dogs being called by this name. I have always liked it ... for a dog. But, now, I kind of like it. I think that it ould be cute if his nn was King. (Even though that is ALOT to live up to)
