[Opinions] Margaux?
WDYT of Lilah Margaux? (Margaux is a form of both Megan and Margaret, which honors my best friend, my mom, and one of my grandmothers. The only problem with this is, it only honors one grandmother...the other one's name is Sheila.)Do you like Lilah Margaux, Lilah Meredith (also honors), or Lilah Genevieve? Thanks in advance!-Ooh! A thought! (Sorry, I'm in a random mood)
Cecily is a form of Sheila- WDYT of
Lilah Margaux Cecily (This way, the combo would honor my best friend, my mother, and both of my grandmothers.)Is Lilah Margaux Cecily too long? Not flow right, etc? Thanks in advance, everyone.

Lilah Margaux is a very pretty name. I like Lilah Meredith and Lilah Genevieve as well. Lilah Margaux Cecily is a bit too long imo.

I like Lilah. Maybe Marilee as a middle name? Just a thought. Marilee would be a combo of Margaret and Cecily.

I absolutely love Margaux and Margaux with Lilah is really pretty! I also like Cecily with it but I'd use Lilah Cecily Margaux because it just seems to flow a little better. These names are so pretty together! :)

I prefer the spelling Margot since it looks less contrived (and pretentious), but overall, I love the name. I think it's really pretty, underused enough not to be annoying, and rather classy.Lilah Margaux Cecily is nice, but I like Margaux and Cecily more than Lilah to be honest! It's nice that they honor people for you, but they're just really pretty on their own. The combo is nice, and the length doesn't bother me, but I think Margaux Cecily or Cecily Margaux would be gorgeous.

I like Lilah Genevieve best, because I think of St. Genevieve. Meredith was the smelly girl who didn't shower in my high school, and Margaux is faux. I prefer Margo by far. Margot is only acceptable to me if the T is being pronunced, but I'm mostly alone in liking MAR-git, lol. That's how the majority of people I know would automatically say it, and so Margot MAR-git seems much more natural to me than Margot MAR-go.But Lilah Margo doesn't look quite right to me. They both feel rather nicknamey, and I think both are more suited as first names than middle names.Lilah Margaux Cecily flows, and I like Cecily a great deal--much better than either Margaux (which I keep mistyping as Margauz) or Lilah. ;)Array

Lilah Margaux Cecily flows, and I like Cecily a great deal--much better than either Margaux (which I keep mistyping as Margauz) or Lilah. ;)I keep typing Margauz too! Please don't tell me that Margaux is up there with Lilah on "Array's List of Brogan's Names That She Can't Stand". I know Lilah's a ringleader, but not Margaux too!I like Lilah Genevieve best, because I think of St. Genevieve.I'm an athiest, sorry :-POkay, Miss Amy Rae- if YOU had to name a daughter Lilah, what would her middle name be? :-D-Brogan

Oh, I know you're atheist. Unfortuntately, I've loved to read about the saints since I was about...oh, eight or so, so eleven years of associations tend to come out with my opinions on names. ;)Now there is an interesting question you've posed me.If I had to name a daughter Lilah (and call her Lillie at all times, mind), my first choice would be Lilah Rae. Lilah Rae sounds snappy--it has the same rhythm as my name--and it's not too long or flouncy.Supposing I already had, say, Gilda Rae, then Lilah Rae would be right out. In which case, I would likely go for a family name. I might go with Lilah Ingeborg, because Ingeborg's weight grounds Lilah's flightiness. Perhaps Lilah Lucille or Lilah Lisette; while it's an insane number of L's, I love the L sound and when enunciated well, I think they sound nice. Or perhaps Lilah Hazel. While it doesn't have the most amazing flow in the world, my great-grandma Hazel was an awesome lady, and in the end, that matters more to me than questions of taste or flow. Lilah Edith would be another possibility, as would be Lilah Mae, Lilah Ruby, Lilah Claudette, and Lilah Cornelia.Otherwise, perhaps I'd name her after a character or non-family figure that means something to me. That offers up possibilities like Lilah Clarisse, Lilah Juniper, Lilah Stardust, Lilah Philomena, Lilah Janis, Lilah Janine, Lilah Rosalind, Lilah Desdemona, Lilah Topaz, and Lilah Mercy. And then there are those names I might use simply because I like them, few and far between as they might be. There, we have Lilah Suzanne (not exactly a just-because-I-like-it name, but it doesn't fit the other categories), Lilah Winifred, and Lilah Glory, among a few others, I'm sure. That covers my options for Lilah combos, I think. And as a note, if her initials were cool, I'd call her by them instead. ;)Array

Oh, even my Lilah would get called Lily at points ;)Of your (fascinating and loonnngg) list, Lilah Hazel and Lilah Cornelia have already been on mine! Lilah Mae, as well, has been on my list.Lilah Winifred is just fab.Wait! You'd have a Gilda Rae and a Lilah Mae? ;)Thanks, Array, that post was very entertaining in a "wow! yay! new names!" kinda way.-Brogan
ETA- Gilda Lenore just popped into my head, I'm not sure if it's one of your combos, but wdyt?

Margaux looks fussy spelled this way. Lilah Margot or Lilah Margo would look better in my opinion. Also, I think Megan and Margo are both variants of Margaret, rather than Margaux being a form of both. Not that it matters too much, but I think Lilah Margaret would be more "honoring" if that makes sense. Lilah Meredith is very pretty.
Lilah Genevieve is my least favorite of your combos, plus I prefer that your others honor someone.
Lilah Margaux Cecily is a mouthful but the right kid could pull it off! Edit to add: Would you consider Lila?

Yes, I agree with what you're saying about Magaret/Megan/Margaux, and what I meant the point to be was that I was honoring a Megan and a Margaret, and Margaux was the form I chose. Does that make sense? Thanks a bunch for your comments! (and correction :-D)
