[Opinions] August
After Mariska Hargitay had her baby boy and named him August i've really fallen in love with it. I had a grandfather named Augustine Joseph but went by Joseph, and I've always really disliked Augustine and now i've realized that August would be a perfect way to honor him, what do you think of the name? What middle names sound good? TIA!Proud Auntie!
Robbie, Brady, Juliana, Sophie, Graham, Teresa, and soon to be one more!

The name isn't my style, and if I were to use it, I'd prefer it as a MN. I know a very cute little boy whose name is Benjamin August "Ben"...I really like the combo :)

I love this name but I'd use it more for a middle name. I love Augusta though. L'Eau Qui Pleure

I love the name August, and He is just adorable, but I am not to keen on the name Gus... It sounds like a mouse to Me...

I really don't like August, but I love Augustus. I much prefer Augustine over August. I love the nickname Gus, too.

I really quite like Augustus, with the nick name Gus. I don't really like August for a boy, but I do like Augusta, or Auguste for a girl.

I adore it. I have liked the nn Gus for awhile but wasn't "in love" with Augustus, Angus, Augustine, etc. Then one day, I realized August was a nice possibility, and I like it as a fn, with or without Gus as a nn. And I love it as a mn as well. Then someone pointed out here on this board that it could honor someone whose birthday is in August--and both of my parents were born in August. :)

I hate this name, sorry. Why not use Joseph to honor? Or a variant? Or initials?Kristen~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I prefer Augustus (It's been on my faves list for a really long time), but August is nice. I probably would use it (whereas I would use Augustus) because of it being a month name, too. It's nice to honor your grandfather, though. My favorite combo is Henry Augustus, but I think that would work as August Henry, too.
