[Opinions] Cait, Kate or Emmaline?
Cait Emmaline (Irish fn, mn rhymes w/ "mine)
Emmaline Cait
Kate Aislinn (Irish mn, pr. "ashling")*Last name is Peck.
*Need an Irish name in the mix.
*Don't care for Catherine/Katherine/Kathleen/Caitlin
*Concerned "Cait" looks incomplete and with all the Catherine/Caitlin/Kaitlyn, etc. is tooo common.
*Concerned about Kate for popularity reason.
*Afraid Emmaline looks like we're trying too hard to make Emma different. "Emma Peck" sounds horrid and we're trying to honor an Emma. Thanks!

I like the flow of Cait Emmaline and Kate Aislinn better than Emmaline Cait, which for some reason, sounds truncated to me. My favorite combo is Cait Emmaline.*Last name is Peck. -Cait Peck sounds nice.
*Need an Irish name in the mix. -Cait is definitely Irish.
*Don't care for Catherine/Katherine/Kathleen/Caitlin - Me, either.
*Concerned "Cait" looks incomplete and with all the Catherine/Caitlin/Kaitlyn, etc. is tooo common. -No, I don't think so at all. Cait is a lovely name.
*Concerned about Kate for popularity reason. -Well, Cait sounds exactly the same...and I see why you're concerned. :o)
*Afraid Emmaline looks like we're trying too hard to make Emma different. -I don't think it looks like you're trying too hard. Now Emmaleigh? THAT'S trying too hard.
"Emma Peck" sounds horrid and we're trying to honor an Emma. -I don't think Emma Peck sounds horrid at all.Alternate suggestions: What about Aislinn Emmaline or Emmaline Aislinn? That way, you don't have to deal with the Cait/Kate popularity issue. As much as I love Emmaline, Aislinn Peck sound very nice, imo.

Cait does look incomplete, imo, and doesn't sound very good with a one syllable ln either. :-/ No matter how you spell it, it'll still sound like KATE and people don't spell out their kid's names on the playground, so when you're calling her or when she's in a classroom, she may still be one of many despite the 'different' spelling. I like Emmaline the best for the fn.

I think it'll be Katherine (Kate/Katie) AislinnThough I love the sing-song quality when my ds (3.5 years old) says Cait/Caitie Emmaline, I'd rather this baby have options and have her name spelled correctly. This way she has options, has a nn I like and has a great Irish mn.Katherine Aislinn Peck sounds quite nice to my ear and it's growing on me.THANKS!

Have you consideredCaitria? I love that name, and it very obviously has "Cait" in it. :]A few more:
Catalina
Catrina
Caitriona (prn. like Catrina)I prefer the "C" names to Kate, Katherine, etc. Those are overdone, lately.Emmaline doesn't make you look like you're trying too hard. I've seen it used lots of other times. The "Emmeline" spelling is more common, though. Some more names you could use to honour an Emma:
Emmanuelle
Emmabel
Emmalina
Emmaliese
Emmarose / Emma RoseThe last four aren't in the database, but I have seen them before, and a Google search turns up a decent number of results for each.Like Emma Rose, you could always combine Emma with another name you like and make a double-mn.Good luck!

Cait is ok on it's own, but what about Caitriona / Catriona with the nn Cait? I think it's very nice and uncommon.
I think Kate looks a bit plain, Cait Emmaline Peck is quite nice, Emmaline Cait Peck doesn't flow as well imo.
I like Emma, but also have problems with the popularity. Emmaline is ok, but I prefer it in the mn spot. What about Caitriona Emmaline Peck "Cait" or Grainne (GRAWN-ya) Emmaline Peck. Also, another thought, Irma means the same as Emma and might be a nice alternative to Emma if you want to honour somebody. So what about Caitriona Irma Peck? What Sid was saying is true, but there are also different dialects, so if you met someone who pronounces her name that way and it's not a major difference, I don't see a problem with it. And many people would pronounce it "wrong" anyway, thus saying Emmaline to rhyme with mine.

I think Cait and Kate are lovely names, but would be horrible combined with you last name. The combo Kate/Cait Peck is way to choppy, imo. Emmaline Cait Peck sounds much better. Emmaline is one of my favourite names, but I still spell it Emmeline for the same reason as you.
