Help[Opinions] Cecil / Cyrus
WDYT of the names Cecil and Cyrus? I've really been liking both recently, especially Cyrus. I've been pronouncing Cecil SEH-sil instead of SEE-sil, because I just don't like the long e sound in that name.
Also, any ideas for good combos? I'll admit to being at a bit of a loss.

I love both Cecil and Cyrus.....
Though Cyrus is my fave of the two. ^_^

Boys: Keiran, Quinn, Silas, Gavin, Aidan, Vincent, Cedric, Rowan, Mica, Xavier, Ian, Finley, Damian, Laika, and Kaidan.
Though Cyrus is my fave of the two. ^_^

I'm with you on Cecil (SEH-sil). Love it, very sophisticated. Cyrus is also great, although I'd put it more in the off-beat / quirky category.

I like Cecil a lot (as well as Cecily for a girl), and I agree with you on the pronunciation. Cyrus is alright, but I don't like it nearly as much as Cecil. It reminds me a bit of cypress trees, not that that's a bad thing. As for combos, I can think of...

I love Cecilia, Cecile, Celia and Cecily, too. Especially Celia and Cecily.
But I just thought I'd point out that Celia, despite its similarity in sound to Cecilia, is not a variant. Both Celia (and Celeste) derive from a different root than Cecil / Cecilia / Cecily, meaning blind. Celia and Celeste are from a Latin word meaning celestial / heavenly.

I love them both, although Cecil reminds me of this alligator on a kids show. It's called Maisy, but hey I have two baby brother so these shows are on all the time.
