[Opinions] Justin or Jadon?
My sister-in-law is 8 months pregnant and can't decide on a name for her baby. Her husband insists that they will call their son Jay, so they want a name that works with Jay as a nn. At the moment, they are thinking of using either Justin or Jadon. I'm not fond of either name, however Justin seems better than Jadon to me. What are your thoughts on both names and can you help me come up with a better alternative for them? Thanks!

Neither name thrills me. Names that start with a jay sound that I really like are Jamin, Jacob, and Jason (especially Jamin). However, since the choices are Justin and Jadon, my vote goes to Justin, although I prefer Justus or Justice and it's hard for me to get the nn Jay from any of them.Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

Between the two, hands down I'd pick Justin.Justin isn't my favorite "J" name by any means but I like it many times more than Jadon (however one chooses to spell it). Some male names beginning with "J" that I like include:Jeremiah
Jeremiel
Jeremias
James
Job (though I think a nickname for this is entirely unnecessary)
Jason
Jeffrey
Jefferson
JosephThe only problem I can see is that most of those have very well established nicknames already: Joe for Joseph, Jeff for Jeffrey, and so on. So just starting with a J might not be enough to convince someone that Jay would make an optimal nickname. Jason and James, though, make sense to me.

I prefer Justin to Jadon; the latter is a perfectly good name, but anything with that -adon/-aden/-adin ending is really popular right now, and I bet he'll be running into quite a few boys and girls his age with a very similar name. If that bothers his parents, they should reconsider.I know a Joseph nicknamed Jay. Really, anything that begins with the letter J would give them that nickname.

Jadon is trendy, but I prefer it to Justin by a long shot. I've never cared for the name Justin, and I've met quite a few jerks named Justin.
