[Opinions] Hermione
What is your opinion of the name Hermione? Is it too much associated with Harry Potter right now? I am starting to really like this name, but I am not sure what it is about it that attracts me. It isn't my style at all. I think that I like it just because it is so different and unusual. What do you think? Can you see it on an actual person?

I have loved the name Hermione for over twenty years but unfortunately because it is a fairly unusual name its connection with Harry Potter will be on almost everyones mind at the moment not that that is a bad connection at least now most people will be able to pronounce it right now :)
I have seen it in the birth annoucements for my area a couple of times this past year one was Hermione Jane the other Hermione Rose

I love this name. I'm definitly using it on my first daughter. The HP association's not stopping me.

it;s very Harry Potter......and it rhymes with "hiney"! I just can't get over that aspect of it! I think of "hiney" every time I hear this name.

It is associated entirely with Harry Potter. I guarantee you that probably 80% of the US population never knew the name existed before that series.I think it looks pretty spelled but the actual pronunciation is a little harsh. Herm is unattractive whether Hermione or Herman, and the eye-knee part is kind of harsh. I think the appealing character makes the name seem better to me than it actually is if I stop and look at it in a vacuum.

I have to say, I do think it's very associated with Harry Potter. Maybe once the Potter series is over and the last book and movie has been released then the association will fade some but I think it's a name that will always be associated with Harry Potter. But hey, there are worse associations right?I like the name and one good thing about the Harry Potter association is that I think it taught most people who to pronounce it right! I think it would make an interesting middle name with the right first name.

I love the name Hermione. I briefly considered it for my dd. I didn't use it due to the fact that everyone would think I named her after Hermione Granger, but I think it is a great name!!

I love that name! It does have a strong association with Harry Potter but that wouldn't stop me from using the name.

I love it too but since I am a bit HP fan I wouldn't use it lest people think that was why I chose it. (That's not why I like it, though she is a fun character.)

I love it but I don't know if I could see it on a 2004 child...
