[Opinions] Jane or Jayne?
How do you feel about the spelling Jayne? I looks pretty and adds that little extra something like the difference between Ann and Anne. What do you think?

I really like Jayne. Well, I'm probably biased a little, since this is the name of one of my longtime friends...she is of Middle Eastern descent though and I'm quite sure that the spelling reflects her heritage, though I can't say for sure. That said, I've always thought it was somehow prettier than 'plain Jane'( and I normally do not promote the use of gratuitous y's!), however I really like the name either way, I think it's sweet, simple and classic.

I love Jane as a middle name! But I LOVE Jayne as a middle name!
I think it is just a little more spicy, creative, unique, and nicer that just the normal spelling of Jane. Also, if I were to have a daughter and name her Jayne I think it would be better spelled this name because of the nn Jaye which I think is so nice!
So, I would use Jayne.

I prefer Jane
but I don't mind Jayne. I'm not usually keen on spelling variants that deviate from a name's very classic spelling, but Jayne is one that doesn't bother me. I wouldn't use it but I'm not horrified by it, either (like I would be with Elyzabeth, as an example).

Well, I have to say I prefer Jane. Jayne just looks too trendy and made up to me.
I definately prefer Jane.
Loving Theodore and Chloe!
Jayne
My Dad prefers Jane and my Mum prefered Jayne, so my sister is Karen Jane and I'm Sally Jayne.
Personally I prefer my spelling Jayne. This is also my best friends name. :o)

I hate Jane/Jayne its sooooooooooooooooo Plain LOL but its a good combo for Sarah>Sarah Jane
Jane, definitely.
Names with AY in them when they could be spelled otherwise look like written diarrhea to me--messy and all over the place. Ugh.
I love Jane nn Janey, BTW. :)

Jane
I like Jane better, but then again I prefer traditional spellings.
Jane, definitely
Jayne, as a rule, strikes me as just an early "Y iz SOO kewt & gurleigh!!!!" randym misspelling.

Jane, always Jane
Jane is a classic. I think Jayne looks like it has too many letters, and I think it cries out for the nn Jay, which I think detracts from the beauty and simple elegance of the whole name "Jane." Sorry, I have a friend named Jane and I feel very strongly about this! Definitely Jane!

I hate Jayne. It looks like you're stretching out the beautiful Jane, and saying "Jay-yane." It's always annoyed me.

Jayne, to me, looks like the parents are trying to dress up Jane so it won't be perceived as "plain." It doesn't sound any different so why not go with the conventional spelling? I think the classic Jane looks perfectly fine the way it is.
Anne, on the other hand, is the French spelling of Ann. I much prefer Anne because Ann looks unfinished to me.

Jane is definitely better.

Jane! Jayne looks illiterate and sloppy, and like it should be said JAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYne.
Well, this is my real name. It is spelled Jayne, and is often confused with Janie. I think my name is boring. However, I perfer to go by Jayne (Janie) as opposed to Jane.
