I thought the German word for cherry is Kirsche, perhaps I have the spelling wrong. Atleast when I lived in Germany thats what the word was. Maybe Kirsa is just the form used for names. Oh, and when I lived their they pronounced Kirsche KEER-sh. So, if in fact the word is Kirsa, I would assume that it is still pronounced KEER-sh.
Don't mind me though, as I don't speak German.

Kirsa is Germanic. Germanic is not the same language as German. You are however correct that Kirsche is the German word for "Cherry".For reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germanic_languages

Would you say it CUR-sah, or KEER-sah? I like it a lot if it's the second pronunciation, but not the first. Maybe Kirsa June or something like that, that's a very summery name. :)

Good news! IMO it's pronounced the second way: KEER-sah

KEER-sah is much better, imo. KUR-sah sounds like "curses". :b
