[Surname] Swedish surname NESLUND
The LUND part may be something in Geography, but what is NES?
I was told the name was Swedish. Could it also be Norwegian?

HelloI'm Swedish and I am sure that Neslund is a swedish surname, not norwegian. I think it probably was spelled Näslund from the beginning. Näs/Nes means isthmus (a narrow strip of land that is bordered on two sides by water and connects two larger land masses) and lund means grove (a small group of trees)

Sounds like the Swedish surname Näslund. Compound nature names as surnames are very common in Sweden.Näs = foreland
Lund = grove- She said he made a racial slur!
- Racial? She is Swedish!
- Maybe he called her Meatball."I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I’ve decided to be spontaneous."

In "Swedish", a "näs" is a small pennisula.

I reckon it could be either. There are several places called Nesland in Norway, but I haven't found a Neslund. I think lund means "wood", and nes looks like it could mean "headland", but I'm a bit dubious about that. Have a look at www.nordicnames.de
There is a surnames section which gives a list of surname components.
