The first time I saw it I almost pronounced it as 'bonnie face' as well.Haha.. I guess it's no more weird than wanting to name your child Sussudio, though....I like the way it rolls off the tongue.

I too like this name a lot. I always thought it was pronounced like BAH-nih-fuss. You would almost have to be Catholic to give your kid this name, and send him to a Catholic school, because only Catholics would find the name at all "normal".

Id' say it like "Bonnie Face" and it's not a pleasent sound. I love Bonnie, but the "face" tacked on at the end makes it unpleasent in my opinion. It seems like an insult little kids would call each other... "You're a stupid face!" "Yah, well, you're a BONNIE FACE! So there!" Know what I mean?Just doesn't seem like a name to me.

Bonnie (spelt like this) actually means good-looking in Scottish English.I pronounce the name bo-nee-FA-tshe, as in the hiostorical character.

I know Bonnie itself wouldn't be an insult, hehe. But I just don't like the sound, and I think of little kid insults when I hear it.I didn't know the real pronunciation... Just giving my first impressions. I didn't know there was a historical character... I didn't even click the link! I'll check it out now.

Well, I don't think I'm pronouncing it correctly, but it sounds/looks a little like "bony face".
