I need help!!!!! I'm writing a story for my Creative Writing class and I need a character name. This story takes place in Korea about thirty or forty years ago. She is a very kind and compassionate girl who is mistreated by her father and aunt (who's trying to become the girl's stepmother). Her father forces her to work as a maid in order to bring more money into the home. The girl is only eight or maybe ten. Thanks!

it would be even better if you happen to be familiar with Korean names. I've had people give suggestions already. But some of them are unrealistic considering the time period or names in general.

I don't know, just a suggestion.

I had a friend from Korea and her middle name was Mee.

That's about all I know.

My acquaintance whose name I suggested was born in 1971. Your character would have been born around 1956-1968. It's probably close enough. Do you know why it would not be realistic? I'm curious if there is a reason.

To get more suggestions, you really can ask this question on the Facts board, that is where it belongs - and I think you're far more likely to find someone who knows some names or how to find them. Good luck.

Yours was fine. In fact, I'm seriously considering using your suggestion.
Somebody else put up a suggestion that in my eyes is not realistic. I'm half-Korean, I ought to know.

If you're half Korean and you 'ought to know' which names are right and which aren't, why can't you think of one on your own?
