I like India too. It was the name of Ashley's sister in "Gone With The Wind."

It's a GP for me, but not something I'd ever use, more than likely. Seems a bit on the trying-to-be-trendy side since it's a place name (and since most of the people using it have never been to India, probably).

I really grew to like it. It's my two-year-old cousin's name. :-)¡VIVA ESPAÑA!

I go back and forth on this one. I love girl "i" names and the sound is so beautiful. But is it a tad on the "romance novel heroine" side? I usually turn to Indira instead. Indira just seems to feel classier somehow. But I wouldn't tell you not to put India on your list, if that makes sense.

If I were going to name a child India, I would give her a more common middle name, just in case she hates it when she gets older. That way she can go by her middle name. But as she has grown, her smile has widened with a touch of fear and her glance has taken on depth. Now she is aware of some of the losses you incur by being here -- the extraordinary rent you have to pay as you stay.

I knew a little girl named India. She was african American, and was the cutest thing! The name suited her, but I am not really a fan of it. Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

It's one of the few place names I like, and I adore it. It has a very lovely sound and it looks nice.

It's a guilty pleasure of mine. I've liked it ever since I read "Gone With the Wind" in middle school (there's a character named India Wilkes). I just can't bring myself to consider using it because I usually dislike names like India, Asia, London, etc. But India (nn Indie) does have a place in my heart."No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
