And I say it as three syllables. Two annoys me.

Just about everyone I know pronounces my name jul-ya. I used to correct people when they pronounced it ju-lee-ah, but it became incredibly tiring! I much prefer the "jewel" sound over "joo".

Jul-ya, because in the Midwest, we believe in eliding or syllables into mush. Therefore, "Do you understand?" turns into "Dyunderstand?" and Julia is "JOOL-yuh." ;)
