[Opinions] Kelly & Robin
Okay, when you read the subject of the message, what gender immediately comes to mind? How do you feel about the name Kelly on a boy, even though nowadays it is used mostly on girls? Also, what do you think of Robin on a boy? Are these names too far gone into the realm of female names that they can't be resurrected and used for boys anymore?

I thought, "Kelly and Robin are boy names," but then I thought, "Nah. Kelly and Robin, in here, are probaly used as girls names." When I looked in here, "Yes! I've been debating genders too!"I love, love, love! Kelly on a boy. It's perfectly masculine, IMO (even though I have a female cousin Kelly.) Robin is very unisex to me, and I don't say that a lot. It works as a male name. No! Use them! Bring these boys names back to the boys!

In my understanding, Robin is more of a boys name, with all female's i know spelling it Robyn.Kelly on a boy, i dont like it"What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet" The great William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

I find both too feminine to be used for boys.

I like both on boys, especially Robin....Actually, I like both on either sex, to be honest. Kelly for a boy, Kellie for a girl. Robin for a boy, Robyn for a girl (though I prefer Robina). I think either would work for a boy.Array

Though I know only female Kellys, I first think of it as a male name because that's how I like it most. :-) I don't have a strong personal preference for Robin; it strikes me first as being female but I like it well enough on either sex.

I think that either name would be nice for a boy! I happen to be a male Kelly myself, and Robin is a "semi-favorite" of mine for a boy. (There are numerous other "boy-turned-girl" names that I like for boys as well.)

I have an ex-uncle Kelly and my mom is Kelly, so it is sort of an ambygous gender for me. Thanks for your input. I always wondered what a male Kelly thought of their name.

Kelly for girl, Robin for boy, but...That's how I like it best, but I also like it the other way around. I very much doubt that Kelly will become very popular for a boy anymore, it's just really 'girly' now...

Though personally I prefer Robin for a boy, both names are still unisex where I live, I know two male Kellys though both are over thirty
