I know that the name Aidan and all of the variations are popular in American but what about in other countries? Do you think that its too popular to use?

I have meet 4 Aidans (all under 3), only one was a girl, and I have heard of a Hayden (for a girl). I used to like it but it has become like a song played too many times. Thank you for your input.

Aidan "is" popular but if I loved it enough, that wouldn't matter.

I am sick, sick, sick of Aidan. I live in Ontario and I swear it's the most popular name here. Personally, I think it's too popular to use. The variation Aodhan is seldom used, however, and I think that would be ok.

I live in the US and I have yet to meet an Aidan...ever. I also lived in Germany a few years back and I never met one while I was living there or travelling to the surrounding countries (France, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Austria, etc.)

Aidan is quite popular as a child's name. Look it up on the popularity lists. Also, I do quite a bit of scrapbooking and while reading the magazines, MANY people have sons and daughters named Aidan. Its getting to be very trendy. And I had a friend whose older brother just named his son Aidan.

I am so disappointed that Aidan (and the variants) have become popular. I picked that name out in '98, fell in love and decided that my first born son was going to be named Aidan Keir. I wanted a strong, but unusual name. I guess everyone else did too! LOL. I guess I'll just have to keep looking around for boys names.
