I really like Rupert as an alternative to Robert, which I love but don't know if I'd use since I have several other relatives with the name. Wdyt? Is it too old fashioned to come back? Any combo ideas? Thanks :)

I personally dislike it. It's only really used among the 'upper class' in England now, in the same category as Piers, Giles etc. NMSAA, It's considered a bit pretentious here (but that could be just me!)
However in America or another country, it wouldn't have these connotations, so could work. I don't think it being old-fashioned is really a problem

Rupert is a wonderful name. I vaguely remember as a kid a British children's book with a character named Rupert. That's where I first recall seeing the name. I thought it was fun then and I still do.
Do you mean you have many relatives named Robert or Rupert? Either way, as long as there isn't another family member who's been dying to use the name and wouldn't if you do, then I don't see a problem.
