[Facts] Pronunciations of 2 Iranian names
Before I go and try to get a couple of hours of sleep, I'd like to ask y'all if anyone can tell me how to pronounce Roshanak (the original Persian form of Roxana) and Heydar in Iranian.
I've searched the archives, but only the Arabic Haidar came up. Caprice said it was pronounced HIE-dahr (well, she transcribed it "HIGH-dahr", but I like using BtN's key). Would this pronunciation carry through to Heydar in Iranian?
EDIT: Because "like" and "lie" are two very different words...

I know a young Iranian woman named Roshanak-she pronounces it pretty much as it's spelled-Row-sha-nak, equal emphasis on each syllable, or perhaps *very* slight emphasis on the first syllable. A pretty name.
Haidar, can't help on, sorry.
