[Opinions] Annie
WDYT of Andrea nn Annie? Anne is a long running name in my family and I would like to use it. I have always adored Annie but would want it to be a nn. What other names could Annie be a nn for?

I love Annie!! It is so sweet and old fashioned. I also love Anne and Anna. Not too keen on Andrea but Annie could work as a nn for it.

I haven't read the other responses so I apologise in advance for any repeats.I'm not fond of Andrea, but pronounced 'ahn-DRAY-ah', it's not so bad. I personally prefer using Annie on its own, but I'd consider using it as a nickname for:Anastasia
Annabel
Anne
Annalee
Anina (an Aramaic name meaning 'answer my prayer')

Annie is cute, but I dislike Andrea. Everyone else has given you a nice selection of other names it could be a nickname for.:-)

My ex-boyfriend's sister's name was Andrea and she went by Annie. I think it's nice. Andrea wouldn't be my first guess if I met someone nned Annie, but I'm not really sure what would be (I guess Anne). I really like Annie, though. It reminds me of the play. =) My favorite fn for nn Annie is Anastasia.

I think Annie is fine as a nn and can be easily used for just about any name that has an "an" sound in it. Andrea is nms.Names containing "an"

I've never been the biggest fan of Andrea, but that's mainly because of a personal association. Anne is a great name, though. Of other names that yeild the nickname Annie, my favorites are:Anita, Anja/Anya, Lysanne, and Rosanna

i have a first cousin whose fn is Annie. Too plain i think, and she doesn't even have a mn. But it is cute as a nn for sure.
