[Opinions] Mercy
I love the name Mercy for a while now. Ever since reading the book "Mountains of Spices" (a Christian book). 1. Any suggestions of a middle name?
2. Whats your first impression of this name?

I think of one of Marie Antoinette's advisers (i think), who had it as his surname, but thats because im going through a French Revolution obsession lol, but as a result i much prefer it on a boy, although i'd never use it. .:Marie:.

Mercy has really been growing on me lately. I started to like it quite a bit! I think I like it a little better as a mn, though, because otherwise it can kind of sound like a cry for mercy to a specific person (i.e., Mercy Josephine kind of sounds like someone saying "Mercy, Josephine! Grant me mercy!"). But here are some combos anyway:Mercy Josephine
Mercy Genevieve
Mercy Anneliese
Mercy Emmeline
Mercy Adelaide
Mercy Isabel
Mercy Magdalene
Mercy Beatrice
Mercy Caroline
Mercy Marilyn
Mercy Vivian.Catherine Ann Genevieve.

I looooove Mercy. I remember there was a christian movie (forget the name) and her name was Mercy. Adore it. So sweet! I like Mercy Annika, Mercy Annelie, & Mercy Elise. But that's just off the top of my head from my list.Stephie.'Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.' Proverbs 4:23

My initial impressions of Mercy are that it's very pretty and Puritanesque. I would probably peg the mother as being religious. I realize that you shouldn't judge people on the basis of their first names, but, if I met a Mercy, I would probably assume her to be a nice person. I'm terrible with combos, so I can't suggest any mn's.

1. As for a middle name, there are a wide range of names you could use, not including any names starting with an "M". Like, Mercy Marie wouldn't sound as good as Mercy Elizabeth. That's just my opinion. Also, I think Mercy would be better as a middle name than a first, but again, that is just my view on the name.
2. Religious views aside, I could definitely see it as being a nickname for Mercedes (which means "Mercy"). I think it's pretty, but with all things considered, it is a very risky name.
