[Facts] Origin and meaning of RYKA?
We have recently adopted a puppy named RYKA, and we would like to find out what her name means... no luck after searching the web. Any thoughts?

If RYKA is name of a dog and there is some Russian background, then its origin can be rather prosaic - it comes from the Russian word for the growling sound dogs sometimes produce.A similar Russian name for a cat can be Murka.

I think Rica means "rich" in Frankish. It could also be a variation of Rykla, a form of Ruchla (see Ruchel).
