Peaches is pretty funny because at least here in the US, it's a common name to give an orange cat! In fact, our cat Buddy's mother is named Peaches.

It's a good thing cats don't usually acknowledge that a name has anything to do with them. Your friend's cat has thus saved himself a lot of gender issues and identity crises.

I'm not sure about that.
Peaches is quite sure he's a dog, and doesn't understand that he isn't.
