[Opinions] Rowena?
One of my girl favorites is Rowena, with the pronunciation ro-WEN-na. I've never actually heard of anyone with this name, though a girl I used to go to school with was named Rowina, pronounced ro-WEE-na.Anyway, I was just reading some of the comments on the name and one of them says that Rowena is a character in Harry Potter. I'm not into Harry Potter, so I wasn't aware there was a character by this name. What I'm wondering is, is this name highly associated with the Harry Potter series? You know, like if you heard the name Ariel, the first thing you might think of is The Little Mermaid. Does that apply to Rowena and Harry Potter for you? Also, WDYTO the combo Rowena Millie? (Remember I only like it pronounced ro-WEN-na.) Rowena I like just because and Millie means a lot to me. Well, actually a longer version of it, you know, like Millicent or Camilla, but it's not either of those. What is your opinion on the names and the combo as a whole? Does they fit as a combo, does it sound good, is it a nice combo, or is it ugly, etc?I think that's all I wanted to ask.
Thanks in advance!

I love Rowena, pron. 'wen' too. Rowina 'wee' is nice too.I like Harry Potter, but associate Rowena with Ivanhoe more.
I associate Ariel with a guy name, as I am Jewish.Rowena Millie is very cute. Millie is nms but if it is meaningful to you, go for it.

I like Rowena, and I think of Harry Potter when I heard it. Rowena was pne of them who build Hogwarts,Rowena Rawenclaw.I think Millie Rowena sound better, Rowena can be first name anyway. :)

ro-WEN-na was the way I always pronounced it too. I connect it to Ivanhoe and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. The main character of the latter book is named Rebecca Rowena after the two characters in the former book. I love the sound of it. It's so alluring. I'm not too keen on Millie, though. But if it means a lot to you, they don't sound ridiculous or horrid or bad together.

Excuse my nerddom, but Rowena Ravenclaw was the founder of the Ravenclaw house. She never actually shows up in the books (as I'm pretty sure she's just a smidgen dead :P), just mentioned a few times.I don't think it's too associated with Harry Potter (though that's probably why I picture blue when I hear it ;). I like it, and Rowena Millie is cute - very English-sounding.
