[Opinions] Shades of Esmeralda; I like it; combo suggestions too
in reply to a message by lac
As for nn's, I agree with Elphi that Zelda seems obvious. Perhaps also Zel. At my house, though, I can tell you it would just be Z, unless it was Tinkerbell or Sugar or Pumpkin.Just a few suggestions for mn's, if it's not too presumptuous; not sure what style you like. I should warn you, I'm very big on alliteration and assonance. Therefore my first focus is on the Z. Off the top of my head... French names seem to lend themselves to the Z sound, though not all of these are French.Zerelda Thérèse
Zerelda Lisette
Zerelda Desirée
Zerelda Yasmin
Zerelda Roxanne
Zerelda Angèle (my own MN, pr. ahnZHELL)
Zerelda Angelique
Zerelda Anastasia
Zerelda Genevieve
Zerelda Brigitte
Zerelda Eugenie
Zerelda Salome
Zerelda Siobhan
Zerelda Xiomara
Zerelda Suzanne (personally prefer the spelling Susanne, same pr.)
Zerelda Rachelle (raSHELL)
Zerelda Rosalyn (ROZ-eh-lyn, with the second syllable nearly inaudible)
Zerelda Isabeau
Zerelda Isabelle/a
Or if you like somethin a little more kickin...Zerelda Jezebel (my personal favorite so far - all the e's, great rhythm)
Zerelda Phoenix
Zerelda Jazz
Then there's always the usual...Zerelda Grace
Zerelda Rose
Zerelda Marie
Zerelda NicoleBut with such a terrific and unusual name as Zerelda, why would you do that?So what combos have you thought of?

Your suggestions are hardly presumptuous! I have a terrible time with mn's and any help is always appreciated. :) My style tends to be highly traditional, so I loved your first list. I must say that Zerelda Lisette sounds fabulous! I'll have to remember it.
